Having a medical assistant instructor job means that you are responsible for the training and certification of future assistants to the medical community. In order to qualify to become an instructor, you must first have a minimum of 4 solid years experience working in the medical field. You must have up to date certifications and general licenses regarding medical assisting. Both basic and in-depth computer skills are extremely important as an instructor because you will be training for a wide range of medical assistant jobs. Having a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and phlebotomy is a must as well as patient education. It is considered a plus if you have a basic knowledge of billing and coding as well to help with the office side of medical assisting.
